About

I’m a documentary film producer based in Brooklyn, NY, with strong roots in Columbia, South Carolina.

With Matt Nadel, I am the co-founder of Nine Patch Pictures, a documentary production company focused on queer stories. Our work has been supported with grants and fellowships from the Catapult Film Fund, IF / Then, NBCUniversal, and the New York Public Library, among others.

Nine Patch’s first documentary short CASHING OUT – about a controversial AIDS-era industry where dying gay men sold their life insurance policies to investors – will be distributed by The New Yorker in September of 2025, and has screened at DOC NYC and the Provincetown International Film Festival, among others. The film is executive produced by Oscar nominee Julie Cohen (RBG). My next documentary short as a producer, ODD MAN IN (executive produced by Oscar winner Caroline Waterlow, OJ: MADE IN AMERICA), will premiere in 2026 on PBS’ Independent Lens. It's currently in post production.

A few important things to know about me: the Southeastern fast food chain Bojangles is my church, and their Cajun Filet Biscuit is my sacrament. I believe that Bernese Mountain Dogs are the most perfect beasts in all of creation. And I think that Fiona Apple is my generation’s Joni Mitchell.
